Business Development is the hub of strategic work within Salling Group, orchestrating the group strategy process, reviewing and defining must-win-battles, investigating strategic options and executing strategic projects across our organisation. Along with approx. 12 dedicated colleagues in the department, your role will be to ensure business impact in close collaboration with our Executive Committee and business owners.

Solving cross organisational business challenges

As Director in Strategy & Projects you become part of the Business Development department in Aarslev, Aarhus, which consists of Process Excellence and Strategy & Projects. The aim is to ensure short term results from projects as well as long term strategic solutions that gives the business a competitive advantage. Your colleges will be young and dedicated people, who drives a fun and professional working culture. As part of a team in a versatile work environment, your tasks include:

  • Responsible for scoping, planning and driving large strategic projects with executive members
  • Mobilize the organization and ensure commitment and ownership of solutions
  • Facilitate decision making through strong problem solving capabilities
  • Design and lead complex analyses (e.g. financial simulation and business cases)
  • Lead the project team including Business Development and business resources
  • Transfer knowledge through close cooperation with the organisation in order to strengthen organisational capabilities
  • Lead stakeholder management at all levels in the organization including executive level.

The key to your success is excellent stakeholder management and strong problem solving capabilities. You strive in a busy environment where most of the work is spent with your team on site in various business units. Business Development is more than just business; your role is important in order to develop younger team member as well as ensuring a fun and social atmosphere. For the right candidate a leadership role with direct reports is possible.

Experienced within consulting with excellent strategic experience

You have a solid background and +5 years of experience from one of the leading management consulting companies (e.g. McK, BCG, Bain, Quartz) and/or solid experience from business development inside a large organization or a multi-complex business. You have a track record in driving strategic and complex projects. Most importantly, you have a comprehensive management consulting toolbox and know exactly how to use it.
